Jason Segel and Peter Linz sing this incredibly catchy theme for the film, ‘The Muppets’; and song is written by the impressive Bret McKenzie.

![(Saturday Night Live, Season 37; Episode 7)[Host: Jason Segel][Musical Guest: Florence + The Machine] A funny episode, but it didn’t maintain that throughout, unfortunately. The pre-credit roll sketch was fine. The jokes about Mitt Romney were topical, and humorous to a fault. Jason Segel’s monologue was great. Several of the ‘Muppet’ characters showing up was a fine choice, and the writers used them for their best use. The ‘Red Flag’ promo, which was a repeat, was good. I enjoyed it the first time around, and so seeing it again was fine. It has very good material. I thought the ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ skit was great. Everyone in it did great impersonations, and such. Jay Pharoah’s Denzel Washington was killer. Scary killer. The ‘Pedic’ bed promo was funny, and extremely well-written. I thought Segel delivered a great performance in it. The ‘Vogelchecks’ family skit is great, as usual. Of course it’s over-the-top, and a little disgusting; but some how the writers and cast do a fine job of pairing these things well. Paul Rudd’s appearance was nice, and mildly appropriate. ‘Weekend Update’ was sad. Not a lot of jokes that were worth saying. Only thing decent about ‘Update’ was “Really?!? with Seth and Kermit”. But Kermit the Frog was the only one who was mostly funny. Just in general, ‘Weekend Update’ was hard to watch. It’s no wonder why Seth Meyers only does that part, he’s kinda terrible. The retirement party sketch was weird. I didn’t find it funny, and found myself ignoring most of it. Almost the same thing with ‘Blue Jeans Band’ at the end of the show, it was painfully dry and drawn-out. The “Digital Short’ was pretty funny. I enjoyed the concept, and I thought Segel stole the spot-light from Andy Samberg. And I’m pretty sure Olivia Wilde was in it. But she didn’t really do anything in it, but sit and stare— shame. That 80’s jam skit was comical to a point, but the jokes weren’t that funny, and it really didn’t flow well. Kristen Wiig was the only one in that skit that was great, but she was only in it for like 20 seconds. Sad. Outside of the ‘Vogelcheck’ sketch, I think ‘Andre the Giant Chooses an Ice-Cream Cone’ was perfect. Segel’s impression was dynamite, and I thought the skit had a lot of subtle undertones. It was just good, all-the-way-around. Florence + The Machine were good. She has a fantastic voice, and they put on a nice show. I’d like to see them come back. Overall, I think Segel was great, and that he some great chemistry with the cast. I would definitely like to see him on the show again, as long as there are better skits. Though I am looking forward to December 3rd’s show! STEVE. BUSCEMI. STEVE BUSCEMI! I’m not saying he’ll completely kill in his performance(s), but I mean, come on, it’s freakin’ STEVE BUSCEMI.
